The history of the Ursulines is the history of women of faith and audacity, from the time of their foundresses down to today’s heirs. You are invited to a brief introduction to their reality.
The Ursulines live together in communities of faith and love, nourished by their relationship with Jesus Christ. Their mission focuses on faith education and the promotion of human and spiritual values in all individuals whom they encounter.
In Quebec, Japan and Peru, the Ursulines have maintained schools in which the educational methodology is inspired by Angela Merici.
The focus is on attention to the individual, the strength of unity, and relationships based on love. The Ursulines and their lay personnel are committed to keeping this long tradition alive.
Today, there are more than 12,000 Ursulines in the world, belonging to different groups, such as, the Order of St. Ursula (OSU) and other Congregations organized, for the most part, in international unions or federations.
