Since their origin in Italy, the Ursulines have spread out on all the continents. They have crossed centuries always remaining at the service of families, of schools and of the society.

The Roman Union, constituted in 1900 starting with a few monasteries in France and in Italy, with its central government in Rome, regrouped the Ursulines from several continents and hold one of the most important places at the international level. Privileged links established themselves between this Union and the Canadian Union of the Ursulines. In 2016, the Roman Union has approximately 1 500 members.
