SAGAMITÉ 
Recipe of the ‘’sagamité’’  (Indian menu)

‘’ ...  When we prepare a feast for our Indians, we use:

One bushel of black prunes
4  six pound loaves 
4 dry measures of pea-flour or corn-flour
2 to 3 pounds of greasy lard
12 melted tallow candles ... so that all will steep in fat;  it is what they relish. ‘’
